Viscera was an earth pony mare and Tundra marauder gang leader operating between Root City and Vanhoover. She conducted guerrilla attacks on both the Homesteaders, Yaks, and Deadlanders for monetary and material gain. She was a vicious fighter and cunning manipulator, and spoke with a thick Dixie accent. Her cutie mark was a pile of intestines. One of her eyes was cybernetic, and her skull was reinforced with a steel plate.

She was eventually engages in a shootout with Lozenge spanning Ponyville. The Ursa Major they'd previously flushed out of the Everfree Forest then emerges, consuming Viscera.

Behind the Scenes

The author stated that she was heavily based on the warlord Hannegan, ruler of Texarkana, from Walter M. Miller Jr.'s A Canticle for Leibowitz.
